About Alessia Aquilani
Alexia, born Alessia Aquilani, emerged as a prominent Italian vocalist who initially carved out a niche for herself on the international music scene during the 1990s. Prior to releasing music in her native Italian in the new millennium, her early career was characterized by English-language recordings that achieved significant global success. Before embarking on her solo endeavors, Alexia lent her voice as the lead singer for the group Ice Mc.
Her international journey commenced in 1993 as part of the Ice MC project, where she contributed to the creation of highly successful Eurodance tracks, including "Think About the Way," "Take Away The Color," and "It's A Rainy Day." In 1995, Alexia initiated her solo career, first targeting international markets and subsequently shifting her focus to Italy as the prominence of 1990s dance music began to wane. She made an attempt at an international resurgence in 2002 with the single "Don't You Know." Throughout her career, Alexia has achieved impressive sales figures, accumulating over six million records sold. Her discography includes ten singles that reached the top ten, four of which climbed to the number-one position, along with a substantial number of international sales certifications. She has graced the stage of the Festivalbar an impressive nine times and has appeared at the Sanremo Music Festival on four occasions. At Sanremo, in addition to receiving various critical accolades, she secured three second-place finishes and ultimately claimed victory in 2003.
