Alexandra Petrova — Biography

Alexandra Petrova stood as the representative for Cheboksary at the Miss Russia 1996 pageant, which took place in Veliky Novgorod. At the tender age of sixteen, she emerged victorious, securing the title. Her reign also saw her earn the Miss Model International crown. Later, Petrova received an offer from Ford Models, but ultimately turned it down because the agency stipulated she would need to lose weight, learn English, and cut her hair very short. Russia then sent Petrova to compete in Miss Universe 1999, though she did not place. Sadly, on September 16, 2000, Petrova lost her life to a single gunshot wound to the head outside her Cheboksary apartment, just two days shy of her twentieth birthday. Her boyfriend, Konstantin Chuvilin, and his associate, Radik Akhmetov, also perished in the attack. The prevailing theory suggested the perpetrator's target was Chuvilin, identified as a crime boss, and Petrova was an unfortunate bystander to the assassination. She never entered into marriage and had no offspring.
