About Alexis Knapp
Alexis Merizalde Knapp, born July 31, 1989, in Avonmore, Pennsylvania, is an entertainer known for her work in singing and acting. Her most recognizable part is as the spirited Stacie Conrad in the musical comedy "Pitch Perfect," a role she revisited in two subsequent installments of the film series. In 2012, Knapp secured a notable early role in the film "Project X," portraying Alexis, a character who captures the attention of nearly every male partygoer. The movie chronicles three friends' attempt to achieve popularity through a massive party, which quickly spirals out of their control. Filmed in a found-footage style, "Project X" found commercial success despite criticism directed at the lead characters' actions and the film's casual depiction of drug use. Knapp's performance in "Project X" included an intimate scene with actor Thomas Mann, where her character is shown topless with Mann's hands on her breasts. The film was nonetheless considered exciting by many, even as real-life large-scale party incidents that occurred after its release were attributed to its influence. In the same year, Knapp was cast as the vivacious Stacie Conrad in "Pitch Perfect," a musical ensemble film featuring Anna Kendrick, Skylar Astin, and Rebel Wilson, among others. The story centers on the Barden University all-female a cappella group, the Barden Bellas, as they strive for a national championship. The film draws inspiration from the non-fiction book "Pitch Perfect: The Quest for Collegiate a Cappella Glory." Following "Pitch Perfect," Knapp appeared in the television series "Super Fun Night" alongside her "Pitch Perfect" co-star Rebel Wilson. However, this sitcom concluded after a single season. She then took on the role of Taylor Jaffe in Miley Cyrus's film "So Undercover," which saw a limited theatrical release internationally and went direct-to-video in the United States. In 2013, Knapp joined the cast of the sitcom "Ground Floor," which focused on a banker's romance with a building's maintenance supervisor. Her character was written out after the first season, and the show was later canceled despite favorable reviews. After appearing in several other films, she reprised her role as Stacie Conrad in "Pitch Perfect 2," released in 2015, with most of the original cast returning. This installment saw the Barden Bellas competing on a global stage. The film received positive feedback and achieved greater box office success than its predecessor, becoming the highest-grossing musical comedy at the time, surpassing "School of Rock." In 2017, she was part of the final film in the trilogy, "Pitch Perfect 3," where the Bellas reunited for a final performance. The film garnered mixed reviews and was the least commercially successful of the three. In her personal life, Knapp dated actor Ryan Philippe in
