Allison Williams — Biography

Allison Williams was born on April 15, 1988, in Connecticut, USA. She is an accomplished actress and writer, recognized for her roles in series such as Girls (2012), The Mindy Project (2012), and Will & Kate: Before Happily Ever After (2011). She is the daughter of Brian Williams, the former anchor of NBC Nightly News. In 2010, she earned a degree in English from Yale University. During her freshman year there, she was not selected for a role in the mainstage musical produced by the Yale Dramatic Association. While at Yale, she was a member of the improvisation troupe 'Just Add Water'. In New York City, she filmed the third season of Girls (2012). Williams was considered for the role of Susan Storm in The Fantastic Four (2015). She expressed a strong passion for acting early in life, stating that her desire to pursue this path was innate, even before she fully understood her father's profession. This passion fostered a deep-seated intellectual curiosity that she pursued solely for the joy of learning.

In 2011, Williams began a relationship with Ricky Van Veen, a co-founder of CollegeHumor. They became engaged in 2014 and tied the knot on September 19, 2015, during a private ceremony in Saratoga, Wyoming, which was officiated by Tom Hanks. On June 27, 2019, the couple announced their separation through a joint statement. Later that year, Williams started dating German actor Alexander Dreymon, whom she met while working on the film Horizon Line. They welcomed a son in late 2021. In December 2022, news broke that the couple was engaged, and in June 2025, it was revealed that they had married in a low-key ceremony in 2023.
