Amerie — Biography
Born in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, on January 12, 1980, Amerie Rogers is an American musician. She later adopted the professional moniker Ameriie in 2010, a change she explained as a way to embody her positive spirit, feeling that "the vibration of the double I is right" for her. Her heritage is a blend of Korean and African-American.
Amerie's musical output includes the albums All I Have, Touch, Because I Love It, In Love and War, and Cymatika Vol 1.
Her contributions to music have been recognized with several accolades, including the Soul Train Music Award for Best New Artist in 2003, the Soul Train Lady of Soul Award for Entertainer of the Year in 2005, the VIBE Award for Club Banger of the Year in 2005, and the ASCAP Rhythm and Soul Music Award for Top Soundtrack Song of the Year in 2006.
