About Amie Harwick
Amie Nicole Harwick was an American therapist and author focused on marriage and family dynamics. Her journey began in Lansdale, Pennsylvania, before she relocated to Los Angeles in 2001. Upon arriving in California, she explored various professions, including personal training, dancing, bartending, and modeling. Her academic pursuits led her to earn a psychology degree from California State Polytechnic University and a master's in clinical psychology from Pepperdine University. She further advanced her studies with a PhD from the Institute for Advanced Study of Human Sexuality.
As a practicing therapist, Harwick specialized in family and sex counseling, gaining a reputation for her work with clients in West Hollywood. She shared her expertise in her 2014 book, The New Sex Bible for Women: The Complete Guide to Sexual Self-Awareness and Intimacy. Harwick also frequently discussed her professional insights on podcasts, television programs, and her personal YouTube channel. In 2018, she was engaged for a short period to comedian and actor Drew Carey. In her later years, she dedicated her efforts to Pineapple Support, a non-profit organization offering mental health assistance to individuals in the adult film industry. She also contributed to the board of directors for Rock to Recovery, an organization that utilizes music therapy to address addiction and mental health challenges. Sadly, Amie Harwick's life was tragically cut short at the age of 38 when she was murdered by a former boyfriend at her Hollywood Hills residence. Her assailant received a sentence of life imprisonment without parole.
