Andrea Anders completed her secondary education at DeForest Area High School in Wisconsin in 1993. She then pursued her artistic aspirations at the University of Wisconsin - Stevens Point, graduating with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in 1997. Her theatrical training continued at Rutgers University in New Jersey, where she earned a Master of Fine Arts in 2001. Following her studies, Anders relocated to the New York metropolitan area to begin her acting career. After two years in New York, she relocated to Los Angeles. There, she worked on several pilot programs that did not proceed before securing her role on the television series "Joey," which began airing in 2004. It was on the set of "Joey" in 2004 that Anders met her co-star, Matt LeBlanc. They portrayed neighbors who developed a romantic relationship on the show, and this connection eventually extended beyond the screen. Their relationship was publicly acknowledged in 2006, after LeBlanc's separation from his wife, Melissa McKnight. After more than eight years together, LeBlanc announced in early 2015 that he and Anders had separated months prior. In 2017, Anders welcomed her daughter, Audrey, with her partner Jason Keller.
