About Anjelica Huston

Anjelica Huston has carved out a notable career in film and television, frequently bringing to life characters with a distinct and memorable flair. Her work has earned her significant accolades, including an Oscar and a Golden Globe, along with multiple nominations for BAFTA and Primetime Emmy awards. In recognition of her contributions, she was honored with a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2010.

Born into a celebrated filmmaking family, with director John Huston as her father and actor Walter Huston as her grandfather, Anjelica's initial foray into cinema was in her father's 1969 film, A Walk with Love and Death, a role she took on somewhat reluctantly. After relocating from London to New York, she spent the 1970s working as a model. By the early 1980s, Huston decided to fully embrace an acting career. Her breakthrough arrived with her compelling portrayal of a mob boss's associate in her father's 1985 film, Prizzi's Honor. This performance made her the third member of her family to win an Academy Award, securing the Best Supporting Actress prize and joining her father and grandfather in that prestigious achievement.

Huston continued to impress audiences and critics with subsequent roles, including a mistress in Crimes and Misdemeanors (1989), a long-absent wife in Enemies, A Love Story (1989), a cunning con artist in The Grifters (1990), and the formidable Grand High Witch in The Witches (1990). She also brought to life the iconic Morticia Addams in the Addams Family movies (1991–93) and an intrepid writer in Woody Allen's Manhattan Murder Mystery (1993).

Beyond her acting, Huston has also directed two films: Bastard Out of Carolina (1996) and Agnes Browne (1999). She has collaborated with director Wes Anderson on several projects, including The Royal Tenenbaums (2001), The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou (2004), and The Darjeeling Limited (2007). Her voice has been featured in numerous animated projects, most notably the Tinker Bell film series from 2008 to 2015. Her extensive filmography also includes titles such as The Crossing Guard (1995), Ever After (1998), Choke (2008), 50/50 (2011), and John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum (2019).
