About Antonella Clerici
Antonella Clerici stands as a prominent figure in Italian television, making her initial foray into the medium in 1985 as a TV announcer for Telereporter. Her career trajectory saw a significant move to Rai 2 in 1987, where she helmed programs such as Semaforo giallo and Oggi sport, before establishing herself in the popular sports sphere with Dribbling and Domenica Sprint. During this period, she also lent her voice to Ristorante Italia and Segreti per voi. Following this, Clerici joined Fabio Fazio and Walter Zenga on Odeon TV for Forza Italia. A return to Rai 2 in 1995 brought another football-focused show, Telegoal.
From 1996 to 1998, she became a familiar face on Unomattina, Rai 1's daily morning broadcast. Concurrent with this role, she covered the 1998 Fifa World Cup with the in-depth program Occhio al mondiale, alongside Giorgio Tosatti and Giampiero Galeazzi. The years 1999 and 2000 marked a transition to Mediaset, where she presented Ma quanto costa? on Retequattro, the daily Telegatti Story, and the morning show A tu per tu on Canale 5, co-hosted with Maria Teresa Ruta.
The new millennium saw Clerici rejoin RAI in 2000, taking the helm of La prova del cuoco, the Italian rendition of Ready Steady Cook. She successfully guided this popular program until 2008, eventually stepping away to focus on her first child. Throughout the 2000s, she also fronted numerous other successful ventures for Rai 1, including Campioni per sempre: Galà dello Sport 2000, the Sunday program Domenica in, Adesso sposami, Il ristorante, Il treno dei desideri, Affari tuoi, Ti lascio una canzone, and Tutti pazzi per la tele. In 2005, she shared hosting duties with Paolo Bonolis for the prestigious Italian music event, the Festival di Sanremo, returning in 2010 as the sole presenter. March 2010 witnessed the release of her debut music album, titled Antonella Clerici, featuring television themes. September 2011 signaled her return to her most beloved program, La prova del cuoco. Her creative output also extends to several published cookbooks.
