April Bowlby — Biography

Born on July 30, 1980, April Bowlby is an accomplished American actress and model who gained widespread recognition through her television roles. She became famous for her work as Kandi on the CBS comedy Two and a Half Men, which aired from 2006 to 2015, and as Stacy Barrett on the Lifetime series Drop Dead Diva from 2009 to 2014. More recently, she took on the character of Rita Farr in both Titans in 2018 and the subsequent series Doom Patrol, which ran from 2019 to 2023.

Bowlby spent her childhood in Manteca, California, where she completed her secondary education at East Union High School. During her college years at Moorpark College, she pursued studies in both ballet and French before deciding to shift her focus toward an acting career. She trained in drama under the instruction of Ivana Chubbuck and remarkably landed a significant television role as Kimber/Kandi in Two and a Half Men within months of beginning her Hollywood audition process.

Throughout her career, Bowlby has made guest appearances on numerous television programs. These include appearances on CSI where she played Kaitlin Rackish in 2004, CSI: NY as Jenny Lee in 2005, Freddie as Sydney in 2005, Stacked as Jasmine in 2005, and How I Met Your Mother as Meg in 2007. She also appeared in a 2007 film titled All Roads Lead Home, where she portrayed a character named Natasha in a story centered on a twelve-year-old girl dealing with the loss of her mother. In 2009, she starred in the comedy film The Slammin' Salmon in the role of Mia. Additionally, she performed as a Stripper in the American version of Kath and Kim.

Currently based in Los Angeles, Bowlby is recognizable by her natural red hair and blue eyes. Her series Drop Dead Diva was greenlit by the Lifetime Network in July 2009. As of July 2025, her Instagram account has grown to 278,000 followers.
