About April Telek
Born and nurtured on Vancouver’s North Shore in British Columbia, April Telek's early career saw her gracing runways in Japan. Her striking presence earned her a significant Shiseido Cosmetics contract across Asia, a role she held for the years 1989 and 1990. The spring of 1994 marked a pivotal moment when she was crowned Miss Canada, subsequently representing her country on various international stages.
Telek is widely recognized for her engaging performance as Denise in George Lopez's production "Mr. Troop Mom." A significant accolade arrived in 2010 when she received the prestigious Women In Film and Television Award of Artistic Merit at the Vancouver International Film Festival. This honor recognized her compelling portrayal of Jana in the film "Amazon Falls," a character inspired in part by Lana Clarkson. The following year, in June 2011, Telek's talent was further acknowledged with a Leo Award for Best Performance by a Female in a Leading Role for her work in "Amazon Falls."
