Born on September 12, 1939, in Heemstede, Astrid Schulz, who also went by the name Astrid Schultz, established herself as a Dutch figure in the modeling and acting worlds. She achieved notable recognition when she was featured as Playboy magazine's Playmate of the Month in its September 1964 publication. This distinction made her the inaugural Dutch-born Playmate to be showcased in the American version of Playboy. The iconic centerfold image of her was captured by photographer Mario Casilli. Prior to gracing the pages of Playboy, Astrid honed her modeling skills internationally, working in France, Belgium, and her homeland, the Netherlands.
