Born Ildikó Éva Csáth on June 15, 1956, Ava Cadell transitioned from a career in acting, writing, and production to become a prominent therapist and advocate for sexual wellness. She holds a doctorate in human behavior from Newport University in California, and a doctorate of education focused on human sexuality from the Institute for Advanced Study of Human Sexuality in San Francisco.
