Bethany Joy Lenz — Biography

Bethany Joy Lenz, born Bethany Joy Galeotti on April 2, 1981, is a multifaceted American talent, recognized for her work as an actress, singer-songwriter, and filmmaker. She is perhaps most widely recognized for embodying Haley James Scott in the television drama One Tree Hill, which aired on The WB and later The CW. Before that significant role, Lenz also portrayed Michelle Bauer Santos on the CBS daytime soap opera Guiding Light. Beyond her acting, she has made her mark in the music world, both as a solo artist and as part of the band Everly.

Lenz's journey into the professional acting arena began during a visit to Los Angeles when she secured her initial gig in a commercial promoting dolls from the teen drama series Swans Crossing. This initial success led to further opportunities, including appearances in advertisements for brands like Eggo Waffles and Dr Pepper. Her acting career continued to flourish steadily, and by her second year of high school, she had earned a part as Linda Halleck in Stephen King's film Thinner. Lenz's early career also included work in various television pilots, commercials, and films, alongside performances in regional theater, culminating in her being cast as a regular on Guiding Light.
