Bettina Zimmermann — Biography

Bettina Zimmermann, born on March 31, 1975, in Burgwedel, is a prominent German actress and voice artist.

The youngest of three, Zimmermann completed her secondary education, first attending Realschule Burgwedel before graduating from Leibnizschule in Hanover in 1994. While pursuing acting studies privately in Hamburg, she also worked as a model. Her initial on-screen work included advertisements for brands like Vodafone, Lycos (Comundo), and WMF, which paved the way for her debut in the 1998 film *Fisimatenten*. Her career spans productions for both commercial television channels such as RTL and Sat.1, and public broadcasters like ZDF.

Zimmermann has appeared in a variety of television dramas, notably portraying Angélique in the historical film *The Indomitable Heart*, and also featured in series like the children's show *Dandelion*. Her presence has been felt in numerous German feature films as a supporting actress. She has since taken on leading roles in productions including *Moonlight Tariff*, *Erkan & Stefan vs. the Powers of Darkness*, *The Airlift*, the acclaimed *2030 – Uprising of the Old* and its follow-up *2030 – Uprising of the Young*, and episodes of *Crimes after Ferdinand von Schirach*.

From 2015 to 2018, Zimmermann collaborated with her partner, actor Kai Wiesinger, on the web series *Der Lack ist ab*, where Wiesinger also took on directing and writing duties. The couple reprised their roles as Hanna and Tom, characters they had previously portrayed for years in Vodafone commercials. More recently, she appeared in the Paramount+ series *Kohlrabenschwarz*. Beyond her on-screen work, Zimmermann is recognized for her voice acting contributions, lending her voice to characters such as Sally in Pixar's *Cars*. Since 2015, she has also played the prosecutor Claudia Strauss in the continuation of the crime series *Ein Fall für Zwei*.

In her personal life, Bettina Zimmermann is a mother of two. She has a son, born in 2008, from a previous relationship with cameraman Vladimir Subotic, and a child born in 2015 with her partner Kai Wiesinger.
