Betty Blue — Biography

Betty Blue, born August 14, 1931, in West Memphis, Arkansas, and who passed away on August 23, 2000, forged a path as an American model and actress. Her striking image graced the pages of Playboy magazine as the Playmate of the Month for November 1956, with the celebrated photographer Hal Adams capturing her iconic centerfold. Blue's personal life included a marriage to producer and director Harold Lime, which spanned from 1957 to 1963, followed by a remarriage to him in 1991. She openly identified as a nudist, and prior to her Playboy debut, she entertained audiences as a showgirl at the El Rancho Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. Her modeling career extended to other men's magazines, both before and after her tenure with Playboy. Blue also participated in further nude modeling sessions for Playboy, often under an alias, and a topless photograph of her appeared in the mid-1990s publication, The Playmate Book. Her acting endeavors were modest, primarily consisting of television commercials and appearances in low-budget films. Following her death due to heart failure, her ashes were scattered across the grounds of the Playboy Mansion, a testament to her enduring association with the publication. She was recognized as a Playboy Playmate in November 1956.
