Beyonce Knowles — Biography

Beyoncé Giselle Knowles-Carter, commonly known as Beyoncé, is a prominent American singer, songwriter, actress, and entrepreneur. Often referred to as "Queen Bey," she is celebrated as one of the most significant cultural icons of the 21st century. Her career has gained widespread acclaim for her remarkable vocal talent, proficiency in media production, and spectacular live shows. Rolling Stone has designated her as the greatest living entertainer in the world and one of the most exceptional vocalists in history.

From a young age, Beyoncé exhibited her talent through singing and dancing competitions. She gained major recognition in the late 1990s as part of Destiny’s Child, an R&B girl group that ranks among the highest-selling girl groups ever. During the group's pause, she launched her solo career with the debut album Dangerously in Love in 2003. This was followed by a string of successful albums, including the chart-topping B'Day (2006), I Am... Sasha Fierce (2008), and 4 (2011). Establishing her own management company, Parkwood Entertainment, Beyoncé received critical praise for her innovative visual albums Beyoncé (2013) and Lemonade (2016), which tackled issues related to feminism and womanism. In 2022, she released her Black queer-inspired dance album Renaissance, which, along with the upcoming country album Cowboy Carter in 2024, made her the only female artist to see all her first eight solo studio albums debut at number one on the Billboard 200.

Her chart-topping hits on the Billboard Hot 100 include "Crazy in Love," "Baby Boy," "Check On It," "Irreplaceable," "If I Were a Boy," "Halo," "Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)," "Drunk in Love," "Break My Soul," "Cuff It," and "Texas Hold 'Em." She stands out as the only woman to achieve at least 20 top 10 songs as a solo performer and 10 with a group. Beyoncé's collaborations include the 2018 album Everything Is Love with her husband, rapper Jay-Z, under the duo name The Carters, and the musical film Black Is King (2020), which features songs from the soundtrack of The Lion King: The Gift (2019). Additionally, self-directed concert films like Homecoming: A Film by Beyoncé (2019) and Renaissance: A Film by Beyoncé (2023) showcase some of her best-loved performances.

In her acting career, she has appeared in movies such as Austin Powers in Goldmember (2002), The Pink Panther (2006), Dreamgirls (2006), Cadillac Records (2008), Obsessed (2009), and The Lion King (2019).
