About Bobbie Phillips

Born in Charleston, South Carolina, on January 29, 1968, Bobbie Phillips embarked on her acting journey in Hollywood, arriving in 1990 and swiftly securing television work. Her initial foray into acting saw her guest starring alongside Halle Berry in the science fiction comedy, They Came from Outer Space. Beyond her acting pursuits, Phillips also garnered attention as a fitness and swimsuit model, even earning a contract with renowned Canadian bodybuilder and entrepreneur, Joe Weider.

Her career advanced with her first regular television role in The Watcher, produced by Paramount Pictures, where she shared the screen with Sir Mix-a-Lot. Phillips continued to secure roles across television and independent cinema, exploring genres from comedy to martial arts films. Her background as a trained martial artist was prominently featured, as she performed much of her own fight choreography and stunts.

In the television series The Crow: Stairway to Heaven, which aired in 1998, Phillips took on the distinctive dual role of Talon and Hannah Foster. Notably, she holds the distinction of being the first female to portray The Crow character on screen. During breaks from filming The Crow, Phillips also showcased her martial arts prowess in a series of tele-films for Paramount Pictures. Following the success of Chameleon, which received high ratings, Paramount Pictures offered Phillips a studio contract, leading to two sequels: Chameleon II: Death Match and Chameleon 3: Dark Angel.

Phillips graced numerous popular television shows, including The Hitchhiker, Stargate SG-1, The X-Files (earning her a Best Actress award), Married... with Children, Two Guys and a Girl, and Baywatch. Her performance in Murder One garnered a 22nd People's Choice Award for "Favorite New TV Dramatic Series." She also received commendation from Variety for her portrayal of Julie Costello. While her film credits include a small part in Showgirls, she has also starred in various independent films and performed on stage. Prior to her professional acting career, Phillips was active in musical theater, performing as a child at the Dock Street Theater in her native Charleston. She later reunited with actor Gibson to appear in the television series Dharma & Greg. Phillips maintained a steady presence in television sitcoms, dramas, and independent features until her initial retirement in 2003. Her final film before this break was Last Flight Out, where she played a missionary doctor. Phillips returned to the screen in 2014, with several independent feature films released in 2015 and 2016.
