About Bonnie Somerville
Born on February 24, 1974, Bonnie Somerville is an American talent recognized for her work in both acting and singing. Her career has encompassed numerous film and television projects, with notable appearances including NYPD Blue, Grosse Pointe, Friends, The O.C., Cashmere Mafia, Without a Paddle, and Golden Boy. She took on the role of Dr. Christa Lorenson during the inaugural season of the CBS medical series Code Black.
Somerville's professional journey began as an extra in the 1996 movie City Hall. She later secured a leading part as Lyne Danner in the 1999 CBS miniseries Shake, Rattle and Roll: An American Love Story, where she also showcased her singing abilities. In 2000, Somerville joined the cast of the series Grosse Pointe, which aired on The WB from September 2000 to February 2001. The show focused on the behind-the-scenes dynamics of a fictional WB nighttime soap opera of the same name, with certain characters drawing inspiration from real actors. Somerville also portrayed Mona, the girlfriend of Ross Geller, for seven episodes in the eighth season of the NBC sitcom Friends. Her filmography includes smaller roles in Bedazzled (2000), Spider-Man 2 (2004), and Without a Paddle (2004). In 2003, she was cast as Rachel Hoffman, a former associate of Sandy Cohen, in the initial season of Fox's teen drama The O.C., a role that led to her appearance on the cover of Stuff magazine's May 2004 "Girls of The O.C." issue and again in November 2005. In 2005, Somerville starred in the brief sitcom Kitchen Confidential, sharing the screen with Bradley Cooper. During the final season of NYPD Blue, she played Detective Laura Murphy in a recurring capacity across fifteen episodes. Her song "Winding Road" was featured on the soundtrack for Garden State, a film written and directed by Zach Braff. She also contributed backing vocals to Joshua Radin's debut album, We Were Here (2006). Somerville was a vocalist in the charity cover band Band from TV, performing alongside notable figures like Greg Grunberg, Bob Guiney, James Denton, and Hugh Laurie. In 2008, she portrayed Caitlin Dowd in ABC's comedy-drama Cashmere Mafia, marking her third collaboration with producer Darren Star. The series chronicled the lives of four ambitious women navigating their demanding careers and personal lives in New York City. ABC ultimately decided not to continue the series. She took on the role of Suzie Cavandish in the 2009 ABC Family romantic comedy film Labor Pains, which starred Lindsay Lohan. Her film credits also include Shades of Ray (2008),
