About Britt Robertson
Britt Robertson is an American actress. She is recognized for her leading performances in films such as The First Time, Tomorrowland, The Space Between Us, and I Still Believe. Growing up in Greenville, South Carolina, she is the eldest of seven children. At fourteen, Robertson relocated to Los Angeles with her grandmother, pursuing acting opportunities. This significant move led to her living independently by sixteen.
Robertson's initial acting experiences were on stage at the Greenville Little Theater before she moved to screen work. Her screen debut was in an episode of Sheena in 2000. Her early career included appearances in Power Rangers Time Force and The Ghost Club, as well as more substantial roles in Growing Pains: Return of the Seavers, Dan in Real Life, and The Tenth Circle. She took on leading roles in the series Life Unexpected and The Secret Circle. Although these series were eventually canceled, they brought her increasing recognition.
Robertson gained broader attention for her roles in Under the Dome, Tomorrowland, and as the lead in Girlboss, where she played a fictionalized version of entrepreneur Sophia Amoruso. Her filmography continued with roles in movies like I Still Believe and a television appearance in The Rookie: Feds. Initially, she was primarily credited as Brittany Robertson, but exclusively used Britt Robertson from late 2011.
Her career began with stage performances at the Greenville Little Theater in her hometown. At twelve, she started making frequent trips to Los Angeles to audition for television roles, securing a part in a pilot that was not picked up. Her screen debut was as a younger version of the title character in Sheena in 2000. Following a guest spot on Power Rangers Time Force the next year, she received a Young Artist Award nomination for her role in The Ghost Club. In 2004, Robertson was cast as Michelle Seaver in Growing Pains: Return of the Seavers. She appeared in Keeping Up with the Steins in 2006 and played Cara Burns in the 2007 film Dan in Real Life. Robertson also featured in an episode of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation and had a recurring role in the series Swingtown. In 2008, she starred in the Lifetime film The Tenth Circle, based on Jodi Picoult's novel, and took on other television roles. She appeared in Mother and Child in 2009, and had a small part in The Alyson Stoner Project that same year. She also guest-starred in Law & Order: Special Victims Unit as Tina Bernardi. In late 2010, she portrayed Allie Pennington in the Disney Channel original film Avalon High.
