Carol Vitale — Biography
Carol Vitale was born on November 14, 1947, in Elizabeth, New Jersey, and passed away on July 23, 2008, in Aventura, Florida. She was an American model and a notable television host and personality. Vitale gained prominence as Playboy magazine's Playmate of the Month in July 1974, with her centerfold captured by photographer David Chan. Prior to being named Playmate, she was featured in three pictorials for Playboy and graced the cover of the August 1972 issue, where she posed in a white bikini, floating on a rabbit-shaped inflatable while enjoying a day at the beach. Her association with Playboy began when she was employed as a Bunny at the Miami Playboy Club. In the early 1980s, she developed an interest in the broadcasting industry, starting her journey at KIIS-FM, a radio station in Los Angeles, which eventually led to her own talk show, The Carol Vitale Show. Furthermore, she showcased her creativity by designing lingerie for Frederick's of Hollywood. Carol Vitale succumbed to complications from lupus, scleroderma, and osteoporosis, conditions she had battled in her later years, when she died in her condominium in Aventura, Florida, on July 23, 2008. Throughout her career, she held the title of Playboy's Playmate of the Month in the U.S., France, Germany, and Italy, all in July 1974.
