About Caroline Dhavernas
Caroline Dhavernas, a performer hailing from Canada, has carved out a notable niche, particularly through her collaborations with the visionary Bryan Fuller. Audiences will recognize her as Jaye Tyler, the enigmatic protagonist of the Fox comedy-drama Wonderfalls, and later as Dr. Alana Bloom, a key figure in the unsettling NBC psychological horror series Hannibal. Her talent also graced the ABC medical drama Off the Map, where she portrayed Dr. Lily Brenner.
Born in Montreal, Quebec, Dhavernas comes from a family steeped in the performing arts. Her parents, Sébastien Dhavernas and Michèle Deslauriers, are both respected actors within Quebec. Her sister, Gabrielle Dhavernas, also pursues an acting career, with a particular skill for voice dubbing. The vocal similarities between the sisters are striking, to the extent that Gabrielle is capable of dubbing her sister's voice.
Early exposure to English was facilitated by her parents, who enrolled her in an English-language elementary school, The Priory School. Dhavernas embarked on her professional journey at the tender age of eight, lending her voice to television productions like Babar. Her on-screen acting debut arrived at twelve years old with a role in the 1990 film Comme un Voleur.
In her personal life, Dhavernas has been in a committed relationship with actor Maxime Le Flaguais since 2016. Their family grew in September 2018 with the arrival of their daughter, Françoise.
