Celia Rose Gooding — Biography

Celia Rose Gooding is an American performer, known for both their acting and singing talents. They first gained significant recognition on the Broadway stage, captivating audiences as Mary Frances "Frankie" Healy in the musical Jagged Little Pill. This role earned them a prestigious Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album in 2021 and a Tony Award nomination for Best Actress in a Featured Role in a Musical in 2020. At just twenty years old, their Tony nomination made them one of the youngest individuals to ever be recognized in that category. More recently, Gooding has taken on the iconic role of Nyota Uhura in the acclaimed Paramount+ series, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds, a role they continue to portray from 2022 onward.
