Chantelle Houghton — Biography

Chantelle Houghton, a British figure known for her work as a glamour model and television personality, achieved a unique distinction in 2006. She became the inaugural participant in Channel 4's Celebrity Big Brother who was not already a recognized public figure. Her time on the program culminated in a surprise victory in the fourth series, securing the £25,000 prize by outlasting ten established celebrities. These included Michael Barrymore, Maggot, Samuel Preston, Pete Burns, Traci Bingham, Dennis Rodman, George Galloway, Rula Lenska, Faria Alam, and Jodie Marsh. Following a prominent on-screen romance, Houghton wed Samuel Preston, a fellow contestant from the 2006 Celebrity Big Brother series and member of the band The Ordinary Boys, in August of that same year. Their union was short-lived, with a joint statement announcing their separation on June 27, 2007, and their divorce finalized on November 21, 2007. By October 2007, Houghton had been recognized as "TV's latest reality millionaire," with financial analysts suggesting her actual net worth surpassed one million pounds.
