Charlotte Casiraghi — Biography

Charlotte Casiraghi holds the fourth position in the line of succession for the throne of Monaco. Her lineage traces back to Hollywood royalty through her maternal grandmother, the iconic Grace Kelly, and her mother, Princess Caroline of Monaco. She carries the name of her maternal great-grandmother, Princess Charlotte, Duchess of Valentinois. Charlotte, along with her brothers Andrea and Pierre, entered the world in the Mediterranean principality of Monaco, then under the rule of their maternal grandfather, Prince Rainier III.

In December of 2011, Charlotte began a relationship with entertainer Gad Elmaleh, a stand-up comedian and actor. Their son, Raphaël, arrived on December 17, 2013. As Charlotte and Gad were not married at the time of Raphaël's birth, he is not eligible for the Monegasque throne succession. The couple ultimately went their separate ways in June 2015. By March 2018, reports from various reputable news outlets indicated Charlotte's engagement to Dimitri Rassam, the son of French actress Carole Bouquet. Her choice to wear a diamond ring at Monaco's Rose Ball on March 24 further fueled these widespread speculations. She was visibly expecting by the summer months, and the couple decided to delay their wedding until after the arrival of their child. On October 23, 2018, she welcomed their second child, a son named Balthazar. The couple officially exchanged vows in a civil ceremony at the Prince's Palace of Monaco on June 1, 2019, followed by a reception at the nearby Villa La Vigie in Roquebrune. Their religious union took place on June 29, 2019, at the Abbey of Sainte-Marie de Pierredon, situated outside Saint-Rémy-de-Provence.
