Clara Lago entered the world in Torrelodones, a locale close to Madrid. Her cinematic journey commenced at the tender age of nine, with her initial film appearance in the 2000 Spanish production Terca Vida, following a prior turn in a Spanish television series. That same year, she became a member of the ensemble cast for Compañeros, a series aired on Antena 3. Her performance in the 2002 film Carol's Journey, helmed by Imanol Uribe, garnered her a Goya Award nomination for Best New Actress. Lago's talent was further recognized in 2008 at the 56th San Sebastian Film Festival, where she received the 'Best New Talent in Spanish Cinema' award presented by L'Oreal. In 2011, the European Film Academy and the Berlin International Film Festival honored her with the Shooting Stars Award, bestowed by the ICAA, for her work in the film The Hidden Face. By 2014, Lago took a leading role in Spanish Affair. This film achieved remarkable success at the Spanish box office, ultimately becoming the highest-grossing Spanish film in history, with earnings exceeding $75 million.
