About Claudine Beccarie

Claudine Beccarie emerged as a prominent figure in French adult cinema during the 1970s. Her cinematic debut in the adult industry occurred in 1974 with the film "Amour aux trousses." Hailed as the "French Linda Lovelace," she earned recognition from The New York Times, which described her as "one of France's most successful pornography performers." Beccarie's entry into this world began while she was working as an exotic dancer, when Sylvia Bourdon, having discussed the work of pornographic filmmaker Lasse Braun with Beccarie, facilitated their introduction. Traveling with Bourdon to Breda, Netherlands, Beccarie met Braun. Their collaboration yielded her initial film appearance in 1972, an 8mm loop featuring her with Braun, which was subsequently released in the Netherlands.

Together, Beccarie and Bourdon conceived the idea for "Cake Orgy," Braun's seminal 1973 film. Beccarie played a significant role in this production, which famously concluded with her urinating on her co-stars. This particular film faced a ban in the United States, leading to obscenity charges against Reuben Sturman, who was later acquitted. In 1975, Beccarie took a starring role in the documentary "Exhibition." This film incorporated staged hardcore sequences and contributed to her being recognized as the "first French porn star." In 1976, she appeared as the character Claudine in the original "Lèvres de sang" and later portrayed Jennifer in a remake of the same film. Following these roles, she largely withdrew from hardcore pornography. Throughout the latter half of the 1970s and into the 1980s, Beccarie was also featured in several films within the Nazi exploitation genre.

Beccarie expressed a belief in sexual liberation. In a 1975 interview with Cinema X, she stated, "I'm not a lesbian. Nor bisexual. I believe in men. Sexually liberated is what I am!"
