About Cloris Leachman

Cloris Leachman's theatrical journey commenced early, with performances in local productions as a teenager while she was a student at Northwestern University. Following her participation in the 1946 Miss America competition, she earned an esteemed scholarship to study under the tutelage of Elia Kazan at the Actors Studio in New York City. Her professional acting career officially launched in 1948.
