About Colleen Camp

Colleen Celeste Camp, born on June 7, 1953, is a talented American actress and film producer, celebrated for her roles in two entries of the Police Academy franchise and her portrayal of Yvette the Maid in the 1985 horror comedy Clue. She made her mark in 1979 as the original Kristin Shepard on the popular US prime time soap opera Dallas. Camp was born in San Francisco, California, and began her career with brief appearances in films such as Funny Lady, featuring Barbra Streisand, in 1975. She also appeared as a Playboy magazine pinup and had a role in Francis Ford Coppola's 1979 epic Apocalypse Now, although much of her performance was not included in the original theatrical cut but was later featured in the Redux version. Camp has had a consistent presence in film comedies, with notable performances in Peter Bogdanovich's They All Laughed, 1983's Valley Girl, and the comedy Greedy, starring Michael J. Fox. She is frequently cast in roles as a police officer. Notably, Camp received two nominations for the Golden Raspberry Award for Worst Supporting Actress—first in 1982 for The Seduction and again in 1993 for Sliver. In 1999, she appeared in the film Election as Tracy Flick's demanding mother, opposite Reese Witherspoon. While she continues to act in series like HBO's Entourage, Camp is also establishing herself as a producer. She was married to John Goldwyn, a Paramount executive, from 1986 until 2001, and they share a daughter named Emily. Additionally, she guest-starred in an episode of House, M.D. that aired on April 6, 2009.
