About Corinne Touzet
Born in Orthez, in the Pyrénées-Atlantiques region of France on December 21, 1959, Corinne Touzet is an actress and producer recognized for her work in French cinema and television. Her roots trace back to Bernard Touzet, born in La Tremblade in 1940 and who passed away in Schœlcher, Martinique, in 2019, and Henriette Derné. During her formative teenage years, Touzet resided in Boulogne-sur-Mer. Despite her paternal grandmother hailing from Martinique, Touzet did not experience the West Indies until she reached the age of thirty. Her maternal grandfather's origins lie in Puglia, Italy.
With an early fascination for circus arts and clowning, Touzet earned her baccalaureate at sixteen. She then embarked on travels to Canada and the United States before returning to France. In Aix-en-Provence, she pursued literature studies while concurrently organizing street performances.
After a period of performing in various shows, Touzet ventured to Paris in 1981 to pursue her acting career. By 1982, she landed a role in her first television series, Marianne, une étoile pour Napoléon, which aired daily on Antenne 2. Her cinematic debut with a significant role came in 1987 with the film La Rumba, directed by Roger Hanin. Between 1996 and 2007, Touzet captivated audiences as Isabelle Florent, a resilient chief warrant officer and later lieutenant, in the popular TF1 series Une femme d'honneur. The premiere episode drew an impressive 12.3 million viewers, establishing the series as a French favorite. In recognition of her performance, Touzet was honored as "Best Actress in a TV Movie" at the 7 d'Or ceremony in 1997.
In 2000, Touzet co-founded her initial production company, Corilan' Productions. She produced her first television film, Et demain Paula, penned by Florence Duhamel, while simultaneously enjoying success as a recurring star on TF1. This venture led to the production of eleven more television films. In 2004, she both produced and starred in Un parfum de Caraïbes, a film dedicated to her paternal grandmother, who had passed away in 1998, though the storyline was not autobiographical. Her fifth television movie as a producer, L'Enfant de personne, directed by Michaël Perrotta, featured her in the role of an amnesiac. In June 2005, she attended the Monte-Carlo Television Festival to represent Une femme d'honneur. The following year, Touzet participated in the summer saga Les Secrets du volcan, filmed in Reunion Island and broadcast on France 2. Simultaneously, she launched her new production company, Yes productions.
