Born February 6, 1985, Crystal Reed is an American performer whose career has seen her capture audiences on both television and film. She first gained widespread recognition for her portrayal of Allison Argent in the popular 2011 MTV series Teen Wolf. Later, in 2013, she shared the screen with Lucas Till in the movie Crush.

Reed's roots are planted in Detroit, Michigan, though her upbringing took place in Roseville, Michigan. Her academic journey concluded at Roseville High School, from which she graduated in 2003. She has an elder brother, Corey, and grew up within a family that observed conservative Catholic traditions, though she has also mentioned attending Baptist services during her youth.

A passion for dance was evident from an early age, and this dedication led her to become the dance captain during her high school years. Her formative acting experiences were cultivated in local community theater productions in Detroit, where she took on leading roles in musicals such as Annie, Fiddler on the Roof, and Grease. She continued her artistic development at Wayne State University, pursuing a Bachelor of Fine Arts. After relocating to Chicago, Reed honed her craft further through various stage productions. Seeking to expand her horizons into film and television, she made the significant move to Hollywood in December 2008.
