Cutie Suzuki — Biography

Yumi Harashima, born Yumi Suzuki, is a retired Japanese professional wrestler widely recognized by her ring name, Cutie Suzuki. Her career largely unfolded under the banner of JWP Joshi Puroresu. Suzuki’s influence extended beyond the wrestling ring; in 1990, she was the inspiration for a video game titled Cutie Suzuki no Ringside Angel, an all-female wrestling simulation. She also ventured into acting, appearing in various productions.

A significant moment in her wrestling history occurred on December 1, 1992, when JWP Joshi Puroresu established the JWP Openweight Championship. In the tournament held to crown the first champion, Dynamite Kansai emerged victorious over Suzuki in the final match. In November 1994, Suzuki participated in the All Japan Women's Pro-Wrestling event, Big Egg Wrestling Universe. There, she teamed with Takako Inoue but was defeated by the duo of Megumi Kudo and Hikari Fukuoka.

Suzuki also made her mark on international wrestling stages. In 1995, at World Championship Wrestling's (WCW) World War 3 pay-per-view, she and Mayumi Ozaki faced off against Bull Nakano and Akira Hokuto, accompanied by Sonny Onoo, in a tag team contest. This encounter was revisited the following night on WCW's Nitro program. Beyond wrestling, Suzuki lent her voice to the animated series Iczer Reborn, portraying the character Iczer-3. Her acting credits include appearances in the films The Ninja Dragon and Battle Girl: The Living Dead in Tokyo Bay. The Sega Mega Drive video game, Cutie Suzuki no Ringside Angel, bears her name as a testament to her popularity.
