Dakota Kai — Biography

Hailing from New Zealand, Cheree Georgina Crowley has carved out a significant career in professional wrestling, most notably under the moniker Dakota Kai during her tenure with WWE. Within that prominent wrestling organization, she became a recognizable face, particularly as a key member of the faction Damage CTRL. Her accomplishments in WWE include two reigns as WWE Women's Tag Team Champion, shared with Iyo Sky, and a victory in the inaugural Women's Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. She also held the NXT Women's Tag Team Championship twice. Before her WWE career, Crowley competed internationally as Evie, making appearances for promotions such as Impact Pro Wrestling in her homeland, Australia's Pro Wrestling Women's Alliance, American leagues Shimmer Women Athletes and Shine Wrestling, and Japanese companies Pro Wrestling Zero1 and World Wonder Ring Stardom. Her time with WWE concluded on May 2, 2025, when she was released from her contract. Crowley's heritage is a blend of Irish and Samoan roots, with her mother's family originating from the Samoan village of Lepea on Upolu. She is part of a family with athletic and creative pursuits; her sister Nyrene is involved in mixed martial arts, and her brother Earl works as a DJ. Her family's sporting legacy is further highlighted by her grandfather, Pat Crowley, who was an All Blacks rugby representative in 1949 and 1950.
