About Daniella Pineda
Born in Oakland, California, on February 20, 1987, Daniella Pineda is a multifaceted talent encompassing acting, writing, and comedy. Pineda, who has Mexican heritage, pursued her education at Mills College. Her professional journey in entertainment began to gain significant traction in January 2013 when she was selected to portray Sophie, a witch, in a pivotal episode of The CW's The Vampire Diaries. This particular installment, season 4 episode 20, functioned as a foundational entry for a potential spin-off centered on The Originals and its setting within New Orleans' French Quarter. The spin-off series, The Originals, was initially slated for an October 15, 2013, debut, a date later adjusted to October 3, 2013. Despite the network's early confidence, evidenced by an order for three additional scripts on October 10, 2013, Pineda's involvement with the series concluded as her character was written out of the narrative through death. Following this, Pineda continued to build her acting credits with appearances in American Odyssey and The Detour. A notable role arrived in 2018 when she co-starred as Zia Rodriguez in the blockbuster Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. The subsequent year, 2019, saw Pineda take on the lead role of Cassidy Barrett in Mike Kelley's Netflix anthology series, What/If. By April of 2019, news broke that Pineda had been cast to embody the character of Faye Valentine in a live-action adaptation of the beloved anime series Cowboy Bebop.
