Born November 3, 1970, Dawn Marie Psaltis is an American who carved out a career in the world of professional wrestling, first as a valet and then as a performer. Her most recognizable roles came with Extreme Championship Wrestling (ECW) and the SmackDown! brand of World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE), where she was known to fans as Dawn Marie, a WWE Diva. Prior to stepping into the spotlight of sports entertainment, Psaltis worked in real estate. Her path to wrestling began when she considered a career in modeling or acting, and after encountering a wrestling promoter, she started managing wrestlers on the independent circuit. What was intended as a brief, three-week engagement with ECW quickly evolved into a longer commitment; she was signed to a contract. Within ECW, she managed the tag team known as the Impact Players, as well as the wrestler Simon and Swinger, until the promotion ceased operations in 2001. Following ECW's closure, Psaltis transitioned to WWE. Her most memorable narrative within WWE involved her character marrying Al Wilson, who was portrayed as the on-screen father of her competitor, Torrie Wilson. Psaltis's tenure with WWE concluded in 2005 when she was let go from her contract following the revelation of her pregnancy, which subsequently led to her initiating legal action against her former employer.
