About Demi Lovato
Demetria Devonne "Demi" Lovato is a renowned American singer, songwriter, and actress. She began her career on the children's show Barney & Friends, where she appeared from 2002 to 2004. Following that, she took on a role in the Disney Channel's short series As the Bell Rings from 2007 to 2008. Lovato gained significant recognition for her portrayal of Mitchie Torres in the musical TV movie Camp Rock in 2008 and its sequel, Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam, released in 2010. The soundtrack of the first film featured her debut single, "This Is Me," a duet that climbed to number nine on the US Billboard Hot 100. After signing with Hollywood Records, Lovato launched her pop rock debut album, Don't Forget, in 2008, which premiered at number two on the US Billboard 200. Its successor, Here We Go Again, released in 2009, debuted at the top spot in the US, with its titular track hitting number 15 on the Hot 100. Her third studio album, Unbroken, released in 2011, delved into pop and R&B genres, yielding the top-ten US single "Skyscraper." In 2013, she dropped her fourth self-titled album, which debuted at number three on the Billboard 200 and included the international hit "Heart Attack." The subsequent albums, Confident (2015) and Tell Me You Love Me (2017), infused elements of soul and explored more mature themes, leading to a Grammy Award nomination for Confident and the lead single "Sorry Not Sorry," which became her highest-charting song in the US, reaching number six.
After taking a break, Lovato returned with her seventh and eighth albums, Dancing with the Devil... the Art of Starting Over in 2021 and Holy Fvck in 2022, which ranked number two and seven, respectively, in the US, with the latter signaling her return to a rock-inspired style. Lovato's television roles include starring as the main character in the sitcom Sonny with a Chance from 2009 to 2011, judging on The X Factor USA for its second and third seasons in 2012 and 2013, and appearing in recurring roles on Glee from 2013 to 2014 and Will & Grace in 2020. She also hosted her own talk show and the docuseries Unidentified with Demi Lovato, both in 2021. In addition to her TV work, she starred in the drama film Princess Protection Program in 2009, voiced characters in the animated films Smurfs: The Lost Village (2017) and Charming (2018), appeared in the musical comedy Eurovision Song Contest: The Story of Fire Saga (2020), and co-directed the documentary Child Star (2024).
