About Diana Muldaur
Born on August 19, 1938, Diana Muldaur is an American performer known for her work in film and television. Audiences may recognize her for her portrayal of Rosalind Shays in the acclaimed series L.A. Law. She also stepped into the Star Trek universe as Dr. Katherine Pulaski during the second season of Star Trek: The Next Generation. Interestingly, Muldaur had a prior connection to the franchise, appearing in two separate roles, Dr. Miranda Jones and Ann Mulhall, in Star Trek: The Original Series during the late 1960s. Her performances earned her two Emmy nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series for her role in L.A. Law, in both 1990 and 1991. Muldaur's journey began in Brooklyn, New York, but she spent her formative years on Martha's Vineyard, an island off the coast of Massachusetts. She discovered her passion for acting in high school and pursued it through her college years, ultimately graduating from Sweet Briar College in Virginia in 1960. Her foundational training included studies with the renowned Stella Adler, and she first established her reputation on the New York stage. Beyond her acting career, Muldaur has been an active presence in the industry's governing bodies. She previously served on the board of the Screen Actors Guild and holds the distinction of being the first woman to lead the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences, a position she held from 1983 to 1985.
