Dolly Martin, born as Dolly Read on September 13, 1944, in Bristol, England, is an English actress and pinup model renowned for her features in Playboy magazine as well as for her leading role in Beyond the Valley of the Dolls. She has also been credited under the names Margaret Read, Dolly Read Martin, and Dolly Martin. Read made her film debut in 1963 with The Kiss of the Vampire and soon after appeared in the British television series Dixon of Dock Green later that year. She gained significant recognition as Playboy's Playmate of the Month in May 1966 and reprised her collaboration with the magazine in 1970. Additionally, she served as a Playboy Bunny at various Playboy Clubs located in Chicago, London, and New York City.

Her ventures into film continued, highlighted by her performance in the low-budget erotic movie That Tender Touch in 1969. The following year, she showcased her talent as the lead character, the innocent yet alluring rock singer Kelly McNamara, in Russ Meyer’s comedic film Beyond the Valley of the Dolls, where she co-starred with fellow playmate Cynthia Myers. In the 1970s, Read made numerous television appearances, taking guest roles in serials such as Charlie's Angels, Fantasy Island, and Vega$. She was also a regular panelist on the popular game show Match Game, often appearing alongside her husband.

In 2006, she participated in commentary and interviews for the special DVD release of Beyond the Valley of the Dolls, alongside other cast members. Read entered into marriage with American comedian Dick Martin in 1971, but the couple divorced in 1975. They later remarried in 1978. As a stepmother, she embraced her role with Martin's two sons, including actor Cary Martin. Dick Martin passed away on May 24, 2008. Read is celebrated for her legacy as a Playmate, having been featured as one in May 1966.
