Dona Speir — Biography

Dona Speir arrived in the world on February 7, 1964, in Norwalk, California. Throughout her career, she has worked as an actress, Playboy Playmate, and writer. She rose to prominence when Playboy selected her as its Playmate of the Month in March 1984. Her entertainment career included appearances in several films and television shows, with notable work in projects helmed by filmmaker Andy Sidaris. Audiences recognized her particularly for her involvement in the "Bullets, Bombs, and Babes" series. During the latter part of the 1980s and early 1990s, ranging from 1986 to 1993, she starred alongside fellow former Playboy Playmate Roberta Vasquez in various action and exploitation b-movies directed by Sidaris. Prior to her modeling success, Speir studied film acting under R. J. Adams at The Actors Workshop located in Orange County. Before her March 1984 Playmate honor, she was featured in Playboy's 30th Anniversary Great Playmate Search in 1983. Over the course of her modeling tenure, she accumulated six magazine covers and six photo spreads. In 2019, Speir released her autobiography titled The Naked Truth: The Fall and Rise of Dona Speir.
