About Dorothy Flood
Dorothy Flood pursued a multifaceted career that spanned ballet, modeling, and acting. Her stage presence was showcased in the renowned 1931 Ziegfeld Follies, a prominent Broadway theatrical series. She also shared a bill with Maurice Chevalier during his engagement at the Rainbow Room. During a joint performance, Flood and Bing Crosby were known to share cups of tea backstage during their breaks. Among her circle of acquaintances were Buddy Ebsen, with whom she collaborated on the production of Whoopee!, and his sister Vilma. Although she appeared in several Marx Brothers films, Flood noted that her contributions often did not make the final cut. Her early education took place at the Children's Professional School in New York. Prior to her other endeavors, Flood honed her skills as a ballet dancer with The Metropolitan Opera Company.
