About Eden Riegel
Born in the nation's capital, Eden Sonja Jane Riegel hails from a family with a strong creative spirit. Her parents, Kurt and Lenore, are the anchors of a household that also includes her older siblings, Tatiana S. Riegel and Sam Riegel. Eden's formative years unfolded in a suburban setting in Virginia. The initial spark for her performing career was ignited by observing her brother's stage work in dinner theater. This early exposure to the magic of the stage proved infectious, and Eden soon followed suit, embarking on her own dinner theater ventures, earning ten dollars a week for her efforts.
Her theatrical journey saw a significant milestone when she secured the role of young Cosette in the renowned production of Les Misérables, a pivotal moment that opened doors to further opportunities. This success paved the way for additional performances on Broadway and off-Broadway, including a role in The Will Rogers Follies. Her presence extended to the silver screen with appearances in films such as American Pie (1999), The Prince of Egypt (1998), and Henry Hill (1999). The television landscape also benefited from her talent, with guest spots on numerous series.
Beyond her acting endeavors, Eden possesses a remarkable vocal talent. She was a contributing voice to the well-known ensemble Broadway Kids and lent her backing vocals to prominent artists like Jewel and Michael Jackson. Her academic path initially led her to New York's Professional Children's School and subsequently to Harvard University, with aspirations of a legal career. However, a compelling acting opportunity prompted her to take a hiatus from her studies.
Her most significant breakthrough arrived with her casting as Bianca Christine Montgomery on the long-running soap opera All My Children. Bianca made history as one of the first prominent characters on American television to be openly gay. Eden's portrayal of the character was marked by its sincerity, emotional depth, and captivating charm, quickly establishing Bianca as a deeply cherished figure in the show's extensive history. She concluded her tenure on the show in February 2005. Since then, Eden has relocated to Los Angeles, eager to expand her career into prime-time television and film.
