About Eva Larue
Eva LaRue, an American actress born on December 27, 1966, in Long Beach, California, is of diverse heritage, including Puerto Rican, French, Dutch, and Scottish roots. A follower of the Bahá'í Faith, LaRue’s journey into acting began at the tender age of six, and she later gained recognition as a beauty queen in her teenage years, winning the title of Danfranc Productions Miss California Empire in 1984 during a state pageant held in Irvine, California.
LaRue is well-known for her role as Dr. Maria Santos Grey on the soap opera All My Children, where she starred from 1993 to 1997 and again from 2002 to 2005. Her character became a part of one of the show’s iconic supercouples, Edmund and Maria. For her performance, she earned a nomination for a Daytime Emmy Award as "Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series." Additionally, in 2004, she received a nomination for “Outstanding Original Song” for her composition "Dance Again with You," which featured in a romantic scene following the characters’ third wedding in June 2003.
Throughout her career, LaRue has taken part in various television movies, including a role as Annette Funicello in a biopic about the former Mouseketeer and as Princess Serena in Danielle Steel's adaptation of Remembrance. During her time on All My Children, she formed a close friendship with Sarah Michelle Gellar, who played Kendall Hart. LaRue also portrayed Linda Lorenzo, George Lopez's sister, in the sitcom George Lopez. In the fall of 2005, she joined the cast of CSI: Miami as Natalia Boa Vista, whose character was unveiled in Season 4 as a mole within the lab collaborating with the FBI. By Season 5, LaRue was a full-time cast member on the show.
Recently, LaRue and her daughter featured in the music video for "Armed," a song by Bahá'í artist Devon Gundry. Formerly married to John O'Hurley, she became romantically involved with John Callahan, another All My Children actor who played her on-screen spouse, Edmund Grey. The couple co-hosted both the Miss America pageant and Lifetime's Television Weddings of a Lifetime before marrying on November 30, 1996, in Hawaii. She used to go by the name Eva LaRue Callahan until their divorce in 2005, and they share a daughter, Kaya McKenna Callahan, born on December 6, 2001.
In January 2008, LaRue was seen with co-star Jonathan Togo at a Portuguese SuperLiga match in Lisbon. She is currently engaged to Joe Cappuccio, a businessman who owns a seafood exporting company and whom she met in the fall of 2008 through mutual friends.
