About Evelina Manna
Evelina Manna, an Italian figure in the arts, began her journey in Rome. Her initial spark of passion ignited in childhood, captivated by the televised grace of prima ballerina Carla Fracci, leading her mother to enroll her in classical dance. Soon, acting captured her imagination, influenced by the profound impact of Charlie Chaplin's "The Kid," a cinematic landmark, which she encountered within the hallowed halls of her church-affiliated school.
Manna's professional path commenced in the fashion realm, first in Paris and then in New York. There, she collaborated with esteemed photographers including Patrick Demarchelier, Ellen Von Unwerth, Simon Emmett, Jonathan Lennard, Tony Kelly, Alan Gelati, Signe Vilstrup, Jean Baptiste Greouille, and Antoine Verglas. This period of intense modeling work culminated in an encounter in London with Susan Strasberg, who encouraged her to attend Actor's Studio seminars.
This pivotal experience rekindled her fervor for acting, leading her to tread the boards in off-Broadway productions and back in Rome. Notably, she appeared in a stage adaptation of Woody Allen's classic film "Annie Hall." Her Roman theatrical endeavors were paralleled by her television debut in "Padre Pio" and "La Guerra è finita." Subsequently, she transitioned to the silver screen, featuring in Alessandro D'Alatri's "Casomai" and Mimmo Calopresti's short film "Una bellissima bambina," which was showcased at the 61st Venice International Film Festival. This was a prolific phase where she balanced her dedication to film and theater with art photography for prominent fashion magazines.
In 2005, Manna joined the cast of Oliver Stone's historical epic "Alexander," sharing the screen with Hollywood luminaries such as Colin Farrell, Angelina Jolie, Val Kilmer, Jared Leto, and Rosario Dawson. Two years later, she took on the leading role and co-producing duties for "Breaking the Silence," a public service announcement aimed at combating violence against women, developed for the European Community. This initiative arose from the founding of Moodyproduction, a company she established with a group of young professionals to foster independent projects spanning culture, music, and art.
Her return to television in 2010 saw her star opposite Enrico Lo Verso in a remake of the TV movie "La donna velata," a mystery thriller drawing inspiration from the legend of the veiled lady. Manna also portrayed Eve in the miniseries "Eve and Munchies," embodying a space heroine with extraordinary abilities who interacted with playful puppets. Concurrently, she continued her production work, with the short film "A Day & a Minute" receiving significant acclaim at the Taormina Film Fest in 2011. In 2013, she produced "Let's Fall in Love," a spot denouncing homophobia, directed by Pappi Corsicato, which premiered
