Born on March 4, 2001, Freya Anderson, recognized with an MBE, is a British swimmer who has made her mark primarily as a freestyle sprinter and a key member of Great Britain's relay squads. Her prowess in team events is underscored by an impressive nine relay gold medals collected across three European Championships, notably securing five golds in a single competition at the 2020 European Championships in Budapest. She has also earned two bronze medals at the Commonwealth Games and a bronze at the 2019 World Aquatics Championships. A significant achievement came in July 2021 when she contributed to the British team's gold medal victory in the mixed 4 × 100 metre medley relay at the Tokyo Olympics, swimming the crucial freestyle anchor leg in the preliminary heat. On the individual front, Anderson has claimed silver and bronze medals in the 50-meter freestyle at the 2022 European Championships.
