Fumie Hosokawa, born on September 2, 1971, is a former Japanese performer who made her mark as an actress, singer, and model. Her early years were spent in Tanabe, Aomori prefecture, followed by a four-year period in Etajima, Hiroshima Prefecture. A year of schooling in Hawaii, United States, marked a significant part of her childhood before she returned to Japan.

Hosokawa's professional journey began in December 1990 when she first posed for magazines as a bikini model. This led to subsequent ventures into singing and film acting. While her talents in these areas were noted, it was her famously ample physique that truly captured public attention. At one point, she was recognized for her impressive 94 cm bust measurement, a noteworthy attribute for models in Japan during that era. Standing at 163 cm (5'4"), her figure has been a topic of interest, with her official website documenting its evolution. In 1990, her measurements were recorded as 94-60-90 cm (37-24-35 inches), and by 2006, they had adjusted to 90-59-87 cm (35-23-34 inches).

She has since returned to modeling and released two gravure idol DVDs in 2006. Hosokawa is widely regarded as a pioneering figure in the wave of Japanese bikini models known for their large bust sizes. Among her peers in this trend were Mirei Kuroda and Yuko Aoki. A notable personal chapter in her life involved a reported affair with Japanese actor and director Takeshi Kitano, with speculation suggesting her May 2003 novel was inspired by this relationship.

In early 2008, Fumie Hosokawa retired from the entertainment industry shortly after welcoming her first child, a son, on December 20, 2007, with her husband, businessman Hisato Endo. Prior to her pregnancy, she participated in a nude coffee table book titled 'Fuming,' which was ultimately released in early 2010.
