Gabriella Wilde, known professionally as Gabriella Wilde or Gabriella Calthorpe, is an English actress and model born on April 8, 1989. Her birthplace is Basingstoke, Hampshire, in the United Kingdom. She hails from the esteemed Gough-Calthorpe lineage, an aristocratic family. Her father, John Austen Anstruther-Gough-Calthorpe, a businessman, previously chaired the Watermark Group and is the grandson of baronet Fitzroy Anstruther-Gough-Calthorpe. Her mother, Vanessa Mary Theresa (née Hubbard), was previously married to the socialite Sir Dai Llewellyn, the 4th Baronet. Vanessa herself enjoyed a modeling career, posing for renowned photographers David Bailey and John Swannell. Gabriella's maternal ancestry traces back to Montagu Bertie, the 6th Earl of Abingdon, and General Hon. Thomas Gage. Further back in her maternal line, her grandmother's parents were Bernard Fitzalan-Howard, 3rd Baron Howard of Glossop, and Mona Fitzalan-Howard, 11th Baroness Beaumont.

Gabriella has a younger sister named Octavia. She also has five half-siblings: Georgiana, Isabella, and Jacobi, from her father's first union with Lady Mary-Gaye Curzon, and Olivia and Arabella, from her mother's earlier marriage. Notably, Isabella and Olivia have also pursued acting careers. Gabriella's education included attendance at Heathfield St Mary's School in Ascot, followed by St Swithun's School in Winchester. She eventually departed from formal schooling to study art while simultaneously advancing her modeling work. An incident involving smuggled vodka led to her suspension from Heathfield and subsequent transfer to the esteemed St Swithun's. Her mother later married Alan Pownall on September 13, 2014, and they have three sons: Sasha Blue Pownall, born on February 3, 2014, Shiloh Silva Pownall, born in 2016, and Skye Pownall, born in October 2019.
