About Gabriette Bechtel
Gabbriette Bechtel, widely known by her mononym, is a prominent American figure in both the modeling and music worlds. Her early rise to fame occurred as the frontwoman and primary lyricist for the punk rock ensemble Nasty Cherry. Subsequently, her career broadened as she gained widespread recognition as a model. Characterized by a distinct gothic aesthetic, Gabbriette has been frequently described in the media as an "it girl" and is considered a leading proponent of the emerging "Succubus Chic" trend.
Following her high school graduation, Gabbriette relocated to Los Angeles with aspirations of becoming a ballet dancer. Her path shifted when she secured a position as a dancer in music videos for Blood Orange, broadcast on MTV. This opportunity caught the eye of talent scouts in the modeling industry, leading to her signing with a modeling agency. Since then, she has been featured in numerous advertising campaigns for notable brands such as Marc Jacobs, Nike, Savage X Fenty, Bottega Veneta, Agent Provocateur, Juicy Couture, and Betsy Johnson. She has also graced the catwalk for designers including Vera Wang, Diesel, and Dsquared2, and has appeared in various editorial spreads and magazine covers for publications like CR Fashion Book, Dazed, L'Officiel, and Vogue.
Beyond her modeling work, Gabbriette has also engaged in photography, creating digital content for V Magazine and Vogue.com. In 2016, she held a photography exhibition to mark the launch of a limited-edition clothing line she designed in collaboration with Junk Food Clothing. In 2018, English pop artist Charli XCX, with whom Gabbriette had previously collaborated on a music video, invited her to serve as the lead singer for the punk rock band Nasty Cherry. The band has since released three extended plays, and Gabbriette was also featured in the Netflix documentary "I'm with the Band: Nasty Cherry" in 2019.
Gabbriette is also recognized for her culinary contributions, sharing recipes and food-related content. Her interest in cooking publicly emerged during the COVID-19 pandemic through video posts, and she has since developed menu concepts for fashion labels. As of 2022, she was actively working on a cookbook. In 2024, Gabbriette reunited with Charli XCX, appearing in the music video for the song "360." She is also referenced in the song's opening lyrics: "Call me Gabbriette, you’re so inspired." Later that same year, she partnered with MAC Cosmetics for a special limited-edition lip kit. Gabbriette's heritage is a blend of Mexican and Swiss-German ancestry. As of May 2025, her presence on TikTok boasts an audience of 588,500 followers.
