Born November 3, 1987, Gemma Louise Ward hails from Perth, Western Australia, where she began her career as a model and actress. Her journey into the fashion world began when she was discovered at just 14 years old, swiftly making her mark at Australian Fashion Week by the age of 15. Ward achieved a significant milestone by becoming the youngest model ever to grace the cover of American Vogue. Her modeling prowess also led to appearances on the covers of Teen Vogue and Time. Parisian Vogue later recognized her as one of the preeminent models of the 2000s. She is widely acknowledged as a supermodel. Ward was briefly romantically linked to Heath Ledger. They first encountered each other in New York in November 2007, and Ward recounted how their connection blossomed into a relationship. They shared Christmas in her hometown of Perth before returning to New York, where Ledger tragically passed away less than a month later, on January 22, 2008. Ward and her partner, David Letts, are parents to three children: a daughter born in December 2013, a son welcomed in January 2017, and another daughter who arrived in June 2020.
