About Georgia May Foote
Emerging from England, Georgia May Foote has carved out a presence in both acting and modeling. Her formative television work includes a notable three-year stint as Alison Simmons in the BBC's school drama Grange Hill, which ran from 2005 to 2008. Following this, she became a familiar face on ITV's long-running soap opera Coronation Street, portraying Katy Armstrong from 2010 until 2015. Her competitive spirit was showcased in 2015 when she secured the runner-up position in the BBC's popular celebrity dance competition, Strictly Come Dancing. That same year, she was recognized in FHM's Sexiest Women list, ranking at number 98.
Foote's educational journey led her through Elton High School in Bury before attending Bury College. She shares her family life with an older sister named Katie. Her career on British television began as early as 2004. Notably, she has twice portrayed characters who met tragic ends: Angela Fairley in the psychological thriller Conviction and Charley Witham in Life on Mars. Her diverse acting portfolio also features roles such as Rosie in Sorted, Katy Barnes in Doctors, Jennifer Thurber in the BBC drama Casualty, Julie Tinnis Wood in the ITV drama Heartbeat, Bryony in Emmerdale, and Gemma in This Is England 86. She also took on the character of Lauren in the short film Cotton Stones and appeared in two television advertisements addressing domestic abuse. Interestingly, Foote initially made a guest appearance on Coronation Street as Jess Burrows before being reintroduced later in July 2010 as a new, permanent cast member, Katy Armstrong. She departed Coronation Street in 2015, opting to explore further acting opportunities, personal interests, and advance her modeling career.
