Hailee Steinfeld is an accomplished American performer known for both acting and music. Her career took off when she starred in the 2010 western True Grit, which brought her critical acclaim including Academy Award and BAFTA nominations. She became a household name through her appearances in the Pitch Perfect franchise spanning 2015 to 2017 and her 2016 film The Edge of Seventeen, earning her a Golden Globe nomination. Her filmography also includes Ender's Game from 2013, Begin Again also from 2013, and Bumblebee released in 2018. Steinfeld provided voice work as Gwen Stacy and Spider-Woman in Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse in 2018 and reprised the role in the 2023 sequel, while also voicing Vi in the Netflix animated series Arcane which ran from 2021 to 2024. She took on the role of poet Emily Dickinson in the Apple TV+ series Dickinson between 2019 and 2021 and joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Kate Bishop beginning in 2021.

On the musical side, Steinfeld achieved prominence after her performance of "Flashlight" in Pitch Perfect 2 during 2015, which led to a record deal with Republic Records.
